Anonymous asked: wtf why all the hate on jill? she's a fucking amazing actress. stop hating on the women.
ALRIGHT ANON LET ME EXPLAIN YOU A THING.
I watch Wolf Watch because of the previews. If I wasn’t so impatient I would just watch them online, because Jill Wagner is disgusting, sexist and really just crude and desperate for attention at this point. Yes, those are opinions, but let me back them up for you…
Let’s start off with this night’s episode:
They start off by talking about the hallucinations. Tyler and Ian talking about why those scenes were happening and what it might mean. What does Jill say: “Oh, but Tyler was making out with Allison, is it cheating?”
I’m sorry, but does that matter right now?
Okay, moving on, let’s mention some other things she talked about this episode?
A few “handling your balls” references, but fine, whatever.
"Ooh I bet you boys would be great at a wet t-shirt contest"
*more spring break references with them being shirtless*
The biggest thing that bothered me?
Alpha of the week: *praising Tyler’s acting ability*
Jill: Oh, but what about his abs? I bet you only watch him for his body
And yet another reference to her licking Tyler’s abs. twice in two weeks, awesome, don’t care.
Last week was another fun time.
Everyone else: *talking about legitimately sweet and romantic things on the show*
Jill: BUT THAT TIME I LICKED HIS ABS, THO *trying to be funny but coming off desperate*
painful to watch at this point?
I think my main point is that, if the situations were reversed and we had a man interviewing someone like Holland or Crystal and frequently commenting on their bodies in an inappropriate manner, I think Tumblr would be in an uproar for his head on a platter.
Why is it okay for Jill to repeatedly make these comments? I mean, at this point I think a lot of viewers have stopped going “oh, yeah, I agree” to “Ok, ok, you can stop now…”
She asks questions like a tabloid interviewer. She doesn’t give two shits about character development or what’s going on in an episode. Instead she counts the times that they’ve hooked up or been shirtless on screen and asks them stupid questions like if it’s cheating if Scott’s making out with his ex-girlfriend in a hallucination. It’s even worse when female actresses are on because she has so little respect for them. They don’t get asked questions about their character development or the plot development. They get questions on what guys they like best, what shirtless guys they like best.
I’m sure she’s a great actress
but for a show, she’s kind of a terrible hostess.
She’s coming off as some creepy pervert who only ever talks about how hot the male cast is or how she got to lick Tyler Hoechlin’s abs. It comes off as desperation at how much she shoves herself into the conversation. She’s been gone for over a season now. You know who else has been gone? Erica, Boyd… do we talk about them? No. We have to listen to Jill talk about herself.
Again, this is a pretty fucking good rule of thumb: IF IT’S SEXIST WHEN YOU SWITCH GENDERS. IT’S SEXIST ALL AROUND. If the host were a man making those comments about women, he would be fired so fast. Jill gets away with it every show and it’s CREEPY.
DON’T EVEN FUCKING TALK TO ME ABOUT THE LIBRARY OF ALEXANDRIA
FUCK NOW I’M UPSET
Oh yeah, that tome of history compiled by a Mesopotamian priest on the History of the World, supposedly spanning back 40,000 years of history?
Fucking gone. Gone forever.
I DON’T CARE IF I’VE REBLOGGED THIS BEFORE I’M STILL EMOTIONAL. ~O
This has saddened me
This actually wasn’t that big of a deal. There was no evidence showing that the information held there was any different from other libraries.
Scrolls can be copied.
The above statement relieves a lot of stress for me
Yes scrolls can be copied. But do you know how long it takes to copy a parchment, scroll or tablet without a printing press? Depending on how large the scroll was, it could take months to years for one person to copy one scroll. There were, to our best estimates, probably tens of thousands of distinct individual works housed in the Library at its peak. So yes, it’s an incalculable loss, especially since it was basically a backup storage for almost every type of writing and text that existed in its time, many of which we now only have references to. Some were scattered into private collections and translated into Arabic, but the large majority were likely ruined by either water or fire in the various stages of destruction of the Library and the Serapeum.
Yeah, no, that’s most definately not what the majority of us said. But I get it DEREK is a name that could so easily mistaken for LYDIA or MALIA, ami’righ?
I’ve been ignoring that Facebook post, because the screencaps turning up on my feed made it clear it was eye-roll worthy. Given the responses being posted by fans, I figured the PR team would just let it quietly disappear.
Obviously I gave them too much credit. This “summary” of the response is so poorly done. Shame on you Teen Wolf PR team. If you had to make a post and didn’t want to mention Derek, it could still have been spun in ways which weren’t gross, including focusing on how worried the fans were for Stiles’ wellbeing — that could actually have made really great copy. Much more fresh and interesting than the tripe peddled in this article.
But no, instead the writer went for a complete disregard of the two clearly expressed popular opinions, and a gross misrepresentation based on the few other comments for the sake of a het love triangle that barely exists in the show.
Homophobic. Lacking compassion for mental health issues. Unethical misrepresentation of the facts.
Congratulations. You’ve achieved a trifecta of incompetence, Teen Wolf PR.
THIS IS SOME STRAIGHT UP BULLSHIT and I am surprised everyone is being so calm about it.
About 8.000 comments.
About 7.000 saying NONE or DEREK.
A SINGLE Derek answer gained 3.351 like.
MTV, do you have NO SHAME?
Or a little bit of a thing called PROFESSIONALITY?
By the way, I will never watch your fucking channel again. You and your sponsors can go fuck yourself, thank you very much.
It’s like we get it.
You don’t like Sterek OBVIOUSLY.
It’s NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN OBVIOUSLY.
But at least if you are going to fucking ASK PEOPLE WHO THEY THINK A CHARACTER SHOULD BE WITH ON YOUR FUCKING SHOW YOU SHOULD REFLECT THAT OR DON’T ASK US, YOU BUTTNUTS
I am so done.
I feel like this is important because…
we can all be like, ok cool. We get it. Sterek is never going to happen. Whatever. We (mostly) accept that. We’re fandom. We’re used to that.
But there’s this other level of shitty when the network, on one hand engages fandom and queerbaits for viewership (YOU KNOW THEY DO) and on the other hand completely handwaves the slash ship like it’s somehow MORE CRACK-Y than Stiles giving up his V-card to a coyote girl that he just met a few episodes ago. Oh, ok.
After a while, this shit becomes really offensive.
Because WHY can’t this pairing be canon?
NO REALLY. WHY? Like, WHY?
Explain. Try to explain without being wildly offensive. Also explain how you can completely ignore thousands of people talking about their queer pairing, like it never happened?
I’m not asking these questions as a butthurt shipper (because I could CARE LESS if sterek was canon), but as someone who sees queerbaiting and then this behavior as heteronormative and homophobic. Just stop talking to us, then. You’re revealing some fucked up shit about your network.
